If you'll be standing at the island more frequently than sitting, it’s advisable to hang the fixture toward the higher end of the recommended range.
Calculating your pendant's overall height (OAH) is not just a technicality, but a crucial step in ensuring the perfect lighting for your space. To determine the OAH, you need to know your ceiling and dining table or island heights. The formula for this calculation is as follows:
Fixture height = ceiling height - dining table height - clearance = OAH
